Lil Tjay

Lil Tjay packs the Midway in SF for his final show on the Beat the Odds Tour! Tjay put on a great show to end off his tour that I’m sure many won’t forget. The crowd was chanting Lil Tjay from the first opener to the last, which showed everyone was there for Tjay and no one else. If the crowd could skip the openers I think they would have based on their energy. The tone of the concert was a mix of gritty authenticity and celebration, reflecting on his journey in the music industry. The setlist consisted of his well-known hits like “Calling My Phone”, “F.N'', “Run it Up”, his hits with the late Pop Smoke “Zoo York” and “Mood Swings'' mix along with tracks from his latest album 222. He even played a couple of Pop’s hits like “Dior”, “War”, and “Welcome to the Party”. With the overall show being a great and fun performance, his energy didn't seem as high as other performances on top of the set being about only 1 and half hours long with him being about 35 mins late. Granted this was the last show of the tour so with tour fatigue and things in his personal life that could have occurred during the days leading up to and on the day of the event, could have caused mental distractions and so forth. Low energy aside, the show was a very fun experience, there was some unexplainable feeling to see someone who’s been through what he has in the past year nearly losing his life to where he is now that I admired and needed to see in person. Looking forward to seeing Tjay’s career continue to grow and evolve. If you’re someone who listens to Hip Hop/Rap and haven’t listened to Lil Tjay before, I’d definitely recommend checking him out.
