Måneskin ‘Honey (are u coming?)’ Review

by Madison Avery

Italian rock band Måneskin is back with their latest single ‘HONEY (ARE U COMING?)’. Måneskin got their trip to fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021, since then it’s only been up. With three studio albums that have topped Italian and European music charts, multiple songs going platinum, gold, and diamond, and lastly being nominated for a Grammy, the band has taken over the music industry. Måneskin is made of a powerful foursome, Daminao David (lead singer), Victoria DeAngelis (bass), Thomas Raggi (guitar), and Ethan Torchio (drums).

The single clocks in at just less than three minutes but packs a true rock punch. The song opens with David’s vocals muffled singing “Meet me there where it never closes / Meet me there where it’s never hopeless”. David walks the listeners through a chaotic night with his stunning vocals.

In the fast-paced chorus, David is almost begging for someone to meet him and join in on the wildness. ‘HONEY (ARE U COMING?)’ is fueled by the upbeat instrumental and David’s sultry voice and lyrics. As always, DeAngelis thumps through on the bass, Raggi provides a catchy guitar riff, and Torchio pumps up the vibes on the drums.

“It’s the story of someone who has no gender or anything, you decide whoever it is, Find someone else and they can see in their eyes that there’s some sadness that they feel out of place and it’s an invitation from one person to another to join them into this new adventure without knowing what they’re actually going to find, but just enjoy the adventure.”, David explained in an interview.

Måneskin performed the song for the first time live in their hometown in Rome and did a live stream event to celebrate the release of the single.
